What is a LCMS Nitrogen Generator? How a LCMS Nitrogen system works.LCMS Nitrogen is a state-of-the art expandable nitrogen generation system with a built-in standby system, which ensures the most efficient use of electricity and the system’s internal components. The system uses a compressed air source that can be existing or supplied along with the generator. The LCMS nitrogen generator range can produce up to 60 lpm of nitrogen at a purity between 99.0 - 99.9%. It uses Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology for consistent purity and long term reliability. All models feature “smart” standby technology for efficient, worry-free operation. The LCMS is compact, quiet and fits under a lab bench. Each model is matched with a silent, oil-less compressor system for “plug & play” simplicity.
The compressed air enters the generator via a 0.01-micron filter (1) that
removes contaminants and bulk moisture via an integrated auto drain. When
the control system assesses that more nitrogen is required, the solenoid
valves (2) open to allow air to enter the Carbon Molecular Sieve (CMS)
column (3). After a set duration, the programmable logic controller (PLC)
within the control system exhausts the first column and operates another
valve to pressurize the second Carbon Molecular Sieve (CMS) column (4). This
cycle repeats whenever the application requires nitrogen. The sieve adsorbs
the oxygen and leaves the nitrogen free to flow into the reservoir (5) and
onto the application via pressure and flow controllers (6). |
