A Minnesota based custom manufacturer of medical and defense components was looking for a cost effective nitrogen solution for laser welding. They were using liquid nitrogen dewars for cover gas on two of their four lasers. They wanted to be able to use nitrogen on all four lasers at the same time but the liquid nitrogen was cost prohibitive. After working closely with one of CGT’s application specialists, they decided to move forward with the purchase of a high purity nitrogen generator.  The “plug and play” nitrogen generator was installed by their maintenance staff and within a few hours they were generating their own nitrogen from the facilities compressed air system.

The company had a payback within 6 months and are now able to operate all four of their laser welders.
